Why does my honey look/taste different than I’m used to?

Honey comes in many colours and flavours – these are determined by the type of flowers the bees visited for nectar. Ultra-filtrated and pasteurised honey usually has a golden colour appearance because of these processes.

Does honey have an expiration date?

Honey is better stored in a cool and dark environment; Honey stored in sealed containers and shielded from temperature-dependent processes can remain stable for decades. Nevertheless, honey is susceptible to physical and chemical changes, where it loses its aroma, flavour and crystallizes. Because these factors are indeterminable it is suggested that honey retains a shelf life of two years. Properly processed packaged and stored honey like ours retains its quality for a long time.

Nutrition

It’s not just versatile, varied and delicious. Research has shown that honey contains a wide array of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. Flavonoids and phenolic acids, which act as antioxidants, are found in honey. The amount and type of these compounds depends largely on the floral source.
